I shot this image while in Tappahannock VA. I came across this derelict beauty by mere chance. This striking yellow house stood alone in a muddy clearing which had so recently been logged that sap still seeped out of the freshly cut timber. The home reemerged from its hiding place deep within a forest which was no longer there. It seemed to stand in defiance from progress, from industry, from nature and from time itself.
